The BBC report that an upgrade to the infrastructure of the National Grid has been approved. Again the BBC seeks to make ‘a story’ out of this and so highlights this as controversial, whereas in fact it is simple common sense. Hoping to generate 50% of your electricity from renewable energy sources, and then not building a wire to connect the renewable sources to consumers is like buying a mobile a phone, without connecting it to a mobile phone network because you object to base stations. Such an action would be just bonkers!
There are plenty of uncluttered views of the Highlands left and this is vital national infrastructure.
